Kael has always been the greatest supporter of Travis’s interest in cargo bikes.

Read about this on TRANSPORTland.

Looking for donors

I’d like to raise $300 for snacks and drinks, and to help pay West Town Bikes for the costs they cover for hosting the event. West Town Bikes is a rare direct-service organization in Chicago. Rare in that you can’t find another group of people so dedicated to getting teens and adults on bicycles (used or new doesn’t make a difference).

If you would like to donate, please contact me directly, 312-593-4857 (text message is fine), or donate via Network For Good (designate to Cargo Bike Roll Call).

If you know of a business that may want to be involved, please send me their name and contact information.

I will be contacting the same donors as last year.

2012’s Cargo Bike Roll Call is Saturday, June 9

June 9th is also the day of Chicago’s Kidical Mass. Yes, I picked that day on purpose. I want parents to join the Kidical Mass ride in the morning, run their errands during the day and let their children nap (or whatever) and come back for fun and food at 6 PM.

The location is the same as last year, West Town Bikes in Humboldt Park, a community learning bike shop with DIY open shop.

I am looking for donations. I want to double, even triple my meager budget from last year. If you would like to donate, you can make a donation straight to West Town Bikes. Please add “Cargo Bike Roll Call” in the comments section of your order.

I don’t have any info on this picture, I’m guessing it’s World War II era.
